DIESEL ENGINE DRIVEN PUMP adalah sebuah pompa yang digerakan oleh mesin diesel.

Diesel pump banyak digunakan untuk aplikasi Fire pump, pompa hydrant, sprinkler,pompa pemadam, pompa banjir, pompa pemindah air sungai yang biasa banyak digunakan di tambang, dan aplikasi lainnya 

Diesel Pump dalam aplikasi fire pump , pompa hydrant, pompa sprinkler atau pompa pemadam kebakaran sangat diperlukan dan menjadi salah satu syarat DPK (Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran) dan bahkan dalam syarat international seperti yang tercantum dalam regulasi NFPA (National Fire Protection Association). 

Salah satu alasan diesel pump menjadi syarat dan regulasi dalam fire pump, pompa hydrant, pompa sprinkler atau pompa pemadam kebakaran adalah bahwa pompa diesel bisa bekerja dengan sendiri tidak ketergantungan dengan tenaga listrik. 

Fungsi Diesel pump atau Pompa diesel dalam aplikasi fire pump, pompa hydrant, pompa sprinkler atau pompa pemadam kebakaran adalah menjalankan pompa pada saat terjadi pemadaman listrik ketika sumber listrik dipadamkan dan tidak boleh menyala pada saat terjadi kebakaran, maka fungsi diesel pump sangat sekali diperlukan dalam hal ini.

Dalam aplikasi fire pump, pompa hydrant, pompa sprinkler atau pompa pemadam kebakaran, diesel pump atau pompa diesel harus di instalasi sesuai dengan syarat-syarat standart yang sudah ditentukan seperti 

• Diesel fire pump menyala secara otomatis pada saat terjadi penurunan tekanan secara drastis yang diakibatkan main electric pump atau pompa elektrik utama tidak bekerja akibat pemadaman listrik 

• Pada saat terjadi kebakaran diesel fire pump difungsikan menjadi manual , yang artinya diesel pump tidak boleh dimatikan secara otomatis, sehingga diesel pump akan bekerja sampai kebakaran itu tertangani oleh pihak yang berwenang, kemudian operator akan mematikan diesel pump itu secara manual. 

• Kapasitas tenaga diesel setidaknya dianjurkan 20% lebih besar dibanding dengan daya yang dibutuhkan oleh pompa.

Sedangkan untuk aplikasi – aplikasi lainnya disesusaikan dengan kebutuhan yang ada di lapangan sesuai dengan situasi dan kondisi yang ada.
